Scientific Career

I work as an Associate Researcher at the Institute of Materials Research at UNAM, specializing in droplet impact, splashing phenomena, and rheology. Previously, I held Postdoctoral Research positions at the University of Oxford and the University of Twente. At the latter, I contributed to the ERC-funded "Bubble Gun" project, which focused on pioneering needle-free injection technology. I am a member of the National System of Researchers (SNI), earned my PhD from Queen Mary University of London, and completed my undergraduate studies in Physics at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. My research delves into the physics of droplets, exploring their behaviour when interacting with various surfaces and substances, including textiles, solid surfaces, and other liquids. My goal is to use this knowledge in creating solutions for water purification and harvesting.

Leisure-time activities

Although science is my passion, I believe that having other activities is good for both physical and mental health. So, when I’m not busy at the lab you can usually find me playing some sport like football or rugby, having a chat in a pub with friends and colleagues or reading fiction books.  Also, I like to get inspired by art exhibitions and work on my own art projects.
